Hilary announced today that she would like to debate Obama every week until the end of March. We must ask ourselves what type of argumentative strategy is behind this proposal?
I speculate that this proposal is based on the fact that many people support Obama because of his charismatic personality. She must also feel that the audiences (voters) do not know enough about Obama to dislike him. Therefore, this proposal will allow people to be more exposed to Obama and lose support for what they perceived as a charismatic personality. Basically they will get tired of him and begin to see the weaknesses in his argument.
I also speculate that she decided to propose this to Obama so that undecided voters will make a final decision in her favor after listening to her speak and attack Obama's ideas. Additionally, this proposal is just more evidence to demonstrate that Hilary would like to be nominated because she feels that her experience makes her the most credible candidate in the election. The more she is able to speak the more she will be able to convince voters that she will be best prepared day 1!
