SNL is gone again, and so is my ability to care.

I look forward to that Saturday Night jolt of politics and satire. When the strike ended and it came back, it was such a breath of fresh air in the discussion of the primaries. It's been re-running for the past two weeks, and I'd sort of rather stab myself in the eye than have another serious talk about the Reverend scandal. I think that for many, Satire provides a safe place to examine issues and provide casual water cooler talk. It's a jump off point to a political talk - without a nice segue like an SNL skit, most talks just turn into "THIS IS WHO I'M VOTING FOR AND WHY!" and that gets real old real fast, especially if you like having friends.
